Find that your glass pipe isn’t hitting the way it once did? Don’t worry it happens to the best of us, your pipe just needs a good cleaning. Fortunately, cleaning a hand pipe isn’t as difficult as you might think. You’ll need a few things such as alcohol and salt or a pipe cleaning solution and pipe cleaners aren’t a necessity, but they will help. If you don’t have pipe cleaners we sell them here at Climax, but a mechanical pencil or cotton swab could also get the job done.

First things first you’re going to want to remove any loose gunk from the pipe. Hold the pipe upside down and gently tap and shake to remove any remaining particles. Then use a pipe cleaner, cotton swab, mechanical pencil, or similarly thin object to remove any remaining gunk.

Once you’ve done that the next step will be to fill a zip lock bag with rubbing alcohol or a pipe cleaning solution. For the best results I would recommend getting Grunge Off which is an excellent brand of pipe cleaning solution that we sell here at Climax but if you do choose to go the alcohol route try and purchase 90% isopropyl, as it will clean the pipe faster than a more watered-down solution. Next place the pipe inside, making sure it is fully submerged in the fluid. 

After that if you chose the alcohol route the next step would be to put some salt in the bag and shake it around, so you can work the salt into the pipe. Now with that all done you should let the pipe sit in the bag overnight. The next day you can remove your pipe from the bag and rinse it with hot water and as soon as you’re done rinsing you can dry it and toke up.
